The Nevada Catholic Conference is deeply disappointed by the passing of Question 6, the abortion ballot initiative in Nevada. This outcome is disheartening for those who believe in the sanctity of life and the sacred rights of parents to oversee the lives of their minor children.
There are two bills in the Nevada legislature which would make doctor prescribed suicide legal in our state. Although there are differences in SB 105 and AB 351 each provides that if a patient has been diagnosed with a medical condition which may be terminal within six months, the treating physician is required to inform the patient that they may request their doctor to prescribe suicide pills.
A.B. 174 establishes The Nevada Interagency Advisory Council on Homelessness to Housing.
The Nevada Catholic Conference requests that Sec. 3 of A.B. 174, which establishes the members of the Advisory Council, be amended to include representatives of one, or more, large service providers, who are involved in the transition of persons from homelessness to housing.
